I promise.....

I am not Superman. I never claimed to be, nor do I want to be him.

I am a teacher. An urban educator. I do not make Promises that students will succeed.

Success comes from three places: the student, their parent/guardian, and their teacher. Without the commitment of all three, I cannot make promises that any child can succeed.

I cannot force a student to pay attention in class or pass tests. I cannot guarantee a parent will get involved in their child's education.

What I can promise is that I will do my best every day to teach my subject. I can promise that I will be there for my students when they seek help.
